Bio
Jadeine McLeod has practised criminal law since her admission to the Bar in 2016. She began her career at the Public Defence Service in Hamilton before relocating to Wellington to join a private law firm. In 2023, Jadeine commenced practice as a barrister.
She appears regularly in courts throughout the Wellington region and can assist with a broad range of criminal matters, including trials and appeals. Jadeine is also available to advise and represent clients in traffic-related matters, including applications for limited licences.
Jadeine has a particular interest in the intersection of mental health and criminal law. Her practice includes proceedings under the Mental Health (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act 1992, and she has experience conducting review hearings before the Mental Health Review Tribunal.
She also represents clients before the New Zealand Parole Board and in proceedings involving applications for Extended Supervision Orders.
